Pfizer did not raise its full-year profit forecast when it reported second-quarter results on Aug. 4-5, 2026. The company beat estimates with Q2 revenue of $15.03 billion and adjusted earnings of 77 cents per share, and it raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $60.5 billion to $62.5 billion, up from a prior $59.5 billion to $62.5 billion. However, Pfizer left its full-year adjusted earnings-per-share guidance unchanged at $2.80 to $3.00.
The revenue bump reflected roughly $1.5 billion in upside from non-COVID products, but that gain was offset by a cut to Pfizer's COVID-19 treatment revenue forecast, from about $5 billion to roughly $4 billion for the year, which kept the bottom-line outlook flat. Pfizer also announced an additional $2.5 billion in planned cost savings for 2027-2029 as part of its ongoing manufacturing and cost-realignment programs.
Because the profit forecast was maintained rather than raised, the market resolved "no." The community's vote was unanimously "yes" (100% on two votes), missing the actual outcome, which hinged on the distinction between Pfizer's raised revenue guidance and its unchanged profit guidance.
